Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m currently a K–5 special education teacher with a deep passion for working with children and supporting families. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Intelligence and spent two years in law enforcement, including time as a School Resource Officer. While I valued that experience, I ultimately followed my heart toward working more closely with children and building a family-centered career in education.
For the past three years, I’ve been teaching students with autism and a wide range of disabilities, including those with medical needs and severe behaviors. This has given me extensive hands-on experience in individualized care, patience, and adaptability. I am trained in crisis prevention, de-escalation techniques, sensory support, and responding to medical emergencies, which allows me to provide a safe and structured environment for every child.
Before my career in law enforcement and teaching, I worked as a full-time nanny for four years. During that time, I cared for children from newborns to 16 years old and gained experience in newborn night care, tutoring, travel nannying, and general childcare. I understand the importance of creating a nurturing, reliable, and engaging environment tailored to each child’s needs.
In my free time, I enjoy paddle boarding, traveling, and biking around town. I bring energy, compassion, and professionalism to every family I work with, and I truly love helping children grow, learn, and thrive.
